Obituary of Ronald Brown

Ronald Brown, 77, of Celoron, passed away Wednesday February 21, 2024, at UPMC Chautauqua surrounded by his family. A lifelong Celoron resident, he was born October 13, 1946, the son of the late Floyd and Florence Brown. Ronald attended Southwestern high school and following school he was drafted into the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. During his time in the army he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Prior to retirement, Ron worked as a millwright for Blackstone Advanced Technology for 17 years and most notably for MRC Bearings from 1981 to 2012. He was a proud member of UAW Local 338 and the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Inc. Ronald was a 59-year decorated member of the Celoron Hose Co. No 1 Inc. joining November 1964. Over the years he was the former Chief and trustee of the fire department and made many lifelong friends throughout his time at the department. He found joy in fishing at Cape Hatteras, hunting with his favorite Labrador Retriever "Lady", watching the New York Yankees and loved the Cleveland Browns. Most importantly, Ron loved supporting his children and grandchildren in all their activities throughout the years. Surviving is his wife Kristina Brown whom he married September 1, 1966; his children Amy Brown of Jamestown, Aaron (Tonia) Brown of West Ellicott, Adam (Jenny) Brown of Lakewood; his grandchildren Sarah Chau of Salt Lake City, UT, Sydney Chau of Philadelphia, PA, Joslyn Brown of Lakewood, Donavin, and Natalie Brown of West Ellicott; his brother in-law Robin (Donna) Jefferson of Burkesville, Kentucky. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Bonita Sorenson and his grandson Drew Brown. The funeral will be held at 11 am Tuesday February 27 in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 pm Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Celoron Hose Co. No. 1 Inc., 92 Dunham Ave, Celoron, NY 14701.
