Obituary of Elaine V. Johnson

Elaine V. Johnson, of Lakewood and formerly of Bemus Point, passed away Thursday February 22, 2024, at UPMC Chautauqua. She was born June 5, 1931, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Gust E. and Hilda Anderson Johnson. Elaine was a 1949 graduate of Bemus Point Central School. Following high school, she was employed at the Printz Co., Mutual of Omaha and most notably Mid-Continent Telephone Company until she retired in 1991. She was a member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Surviving is her sister Dorothy (Gary) Johnson of Beavercreek, Ohio; two nieces Kristen A. Johnson of Centerville, OH, and Rachel (Christopher) Walker of Springboro, OH; nephew Evan (Sarah) Johnson of Union, KY. She was preceded in death by her father in 1969, her mother in 1993, Carol Johnson in 2024 and her brother Donald W. Johnson in 1997. Visitation will not be observed. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday March 7, in the Lake View Cemetery.
