Obituary of Janet K. Gibson

Janet K. Gibson, 84, formerly of Jamestown, died Monday March 11, 2024, in Elderwood of Hamburg, Hamburg, NY. She was born July 31, 1939, in Zelienople, PA, a daughter of the late Elder and Marie Davis Kirstatter. Coming to Jamestown in 1978, she was employed by Lawley-Tradition agency as an insurance broker and coordinator until her retirement in 2007. She was an active community member while living in Jamestown as a member of First Presbyterian Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church, past president of several organizations including Business and Professional Women, Insurance Agents Association and Jamestown Lions Club and was a board member of Marvin Community House, Jamestown Boys and Girls Club, Meals on Wheels and Lucille Ball Little Theater. Surviving are two children Kevin (Linda) Gibson of Hamburg and Kimberly (Dan) Litzen of College Station, TX; eight grandchildren Paul Gibson II, Kara Gibson, Caroline Gibson, Kaitlin Gibson, Bradley Gibson, Joshua Gibson, Danielle Litzen and Kendra Litzen; seven great grandchildren; a sister Ruth Kirstatter and a brother Carl Kirstatter. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Gibson December 7, 1990; a son P. Wayne Gibson in 2021 and a brother Glen Kirstatter. In keeping with Janet's wishes funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle, PA.
