I remember when Dick's mother, Marie Sparling, would bring Dick to spend an afternoon visiting us at our home near Busti. He was just a youngster then, maybe 5 years old, and I was about 9. He loved playing with my blocks and cars! Our family often visited the Sparlings at their boatyard on a Sunday afternoon, when we saw not only Dick's parents (Marie & Charles) but also his grandparents (Clyde & Elsie Nichols). Those are fond memories for me! Rest in peace, Dick.
