Obituary of Stephen P. Raynor

Stephen P. Raynor, 83, of Ashville, died Monday March 25, 2024, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. Born in Chicago, IL, December 17, 1940, Steve was a son of the late Donald Kenneth and Phyllis Park Raynor. He was a 1960 graduate of Panama Central School. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Schaefer Plumbing Supply Company as a delivery driver. He earlier had worked for Dahlstrom Manufacturing, Panama Central School as a bus driver and Hopes Windows. He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Harmony Senior Citizens, and Celoron Moose Lodge. He volunteered for the Ashville Food Pantry. Steve and his wife enjoyed camping at Hidden Valley Campground for 35 Summers. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, with Bill Elliott as his favorite driver, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. He loved going to cheer on his family at their sporting events. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, aides, and support staff of Heritage Park for the excellent care they provided Steve and the kindness extended to his family. Surviving is his wife Wendie Barron Raynor, whom he married April 16, 1977; a son Kenneth Raynor of Jamestown; grandchildren Stephen (Cassie) Raynor III of Wichita, KS, Dustin (Andrea) Raynor of Mayville, Brittany (Jeremy) Raynor of Kennedy, Danielle Raynor of Jamestown, and Heather (Jason) Berry of Cassadaga; fourteen greatgrandchildren Jaiden, Zachery, Renee, Stephen, Nathaniel, Colvin, Caleb, Christopher, Madison, Princeton, Philosophy, Desmond, Autumn-Andrea, and Eloise-Rose; two stepchildren K. Michael Buck of Jamestown and TJ Buck of Jamestown; three step grandchildren Kylie Buck of Philadelphia and Samantha and Kelsey Buck of Jamestown; four step great grandchildren TJ, Arianna, Myla and Leo; a brother Brian (Camille) Raynor of Cary, NC and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Stephen Raynor, Jr., and a great granddaughter Elina Gugino. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Saturday, April 27, in Panama United Methodist Church. Friends will be received in the Community Room of the church following the service.
