Obituary of Beverly H. Tota

Beverly H. Tota, 86, of Jamestown, died Saturday March 30, 2024, in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident, she was born in 1937 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Walter and Helen Carlson Cheney. She was a 1955 graduate of Jamestown High School and was employed for many years as an X-Ray Technician at WCA Hospital. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, volunteered for March of Dimes and served as an election inspector for Chautauqua County. Bev was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed bowling in many leagues and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. Surviving are four children Daniel (Linda) Tota of Jamestown, Megan (Steve) Destro of Lockport, Scott Tota of Jamestown and Michelle (Timothy) Loucks of Lockport; seven grandchildren Helena (Tommy) Destro Pericak, Jared Destro, Jake (Abby) Tota, Geoffrey Tota, Brea (Cade) Poston, Luke (Madison Caflisch) Tota, Cooper Loucks and two step grandchildren Daniel and Allison Courtney; three great grandchildren Landon, Colton and Harper Tota and a sister Barbara Dunderdale of Lakewood. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Tota, whom she married August 5, 1967, and who died in 2021, and siblings Daniel Cheney, Beth Gustafson, David Cheney and Carol Stearns. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm April 20, 2024, in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from noon-2pm on the day of the service.
