Obituary of John C. Williams

John C. Shorty Williams, 82, of 269 Hazeltine Avenue, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 11, 2024, surrounded by his children. An area resident most of his life, he was born in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late John and Grace Yeso Williams. He married his wife, June 7, 1961, and had 58 Wonderful years together until her death April 30, 2020. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Weber-Knapp as a laborer and had earlier worked for Crescent Tool. He was a member of the Kiantone Fire Department for over 50 years where he enjoyed helping and volunteering for his community including selling popcorn at the Gerry Rodeo annually. He was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams including the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. Surviving are four children John (Dee) Williams of Elgin, TX, Gerry (Diane) Williams of Garland, TX, Candie (Don) Wilkels-Miles of Youngsville, PA and Pennie Williams and her fiancée Lee Durstine with whom he made his home; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother Michael Williams and two sisters Mary "Sissy" LoBosco and Carol Liska. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Williams; sister Susan Pierce; a beloved granddaughter Chrissie Cimilluca and a son in law Ryan Winkels. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Tuesday in the Kiantone Fire Hall. No formal service will be observed.
