Obituary of Suzanne R. Bentley

Suzanne R. Bentley, 81, of Panama, NY, passed away peacefully Friday April 12, 2024, at Heritage Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. A lifelong area resident, she was born November 5, 1942, in Ellery, NY, the daughter of the late Emel and Marguerite Lown Lund. Suzanne was a 1960 graduate of Bemus Point High School and attended the Niobe Baptist church in Niobe, NY for most of her life. Suzanne found joy in helping others, putting everyone else's needs before hers. She also enjoyed crocheting and making jams, jelly and cookies for family and friends. In her earlier years, she enjoyed roller skating, ice skating and bowling with her husband. Surviving is her daughter Julie (Jon Getz) Bentley, her son Bradley (Carissa) Bentley; four grandchildren: Janna Bentley, Danielle Getz, Analise Bentley and Alison Getz; her siblings: Emel (Jackie) Lund, Gretchen (Michael) Palmieri, Cathleen (Jake) Little, Judy Neal; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William A. Bentley whom she married October 23, 1965, and who died May 17, 2018; siblings: Donald Kilbury, William Lund, Dianne Brown and Richard Lund. The funeral will be held at 1 pm Saturday April 20, 2024, at the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received two hours prior to the service from 11am to 1 pm at the funeral home.
