Obituary of Dorothy A. Ruby

Dorothy A. "Dot" Ruby, 85, of Lakewood, died Friday, April 26, 2024, in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born April 27, 1938, in Gardner, MA, a daughter of the late Frederick Lafarier and Phyllis Larocque Lafarier Migliozzi. She was a 1957 graduate of Gardner High School. Coming to Jamestown in 1957, she worked at Lakewood Super Duper in receiving and later for Tennessee Connection in Chautauqua Mall. She was an avid fan of NASCAR Racing. Surviving are two children; David L. (Sharoyn) Ruby and Linda K. (Richard) Romaniuk both of Lakewood, NY. Two grandchildren; Jordyn R. Romaniuk of West Seneca, NY and Carolyn I. Ruby of Lakewood, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry "Rube" Ruby, whom she married July 3, 1958, and who died March 22, 2019; a grandson, Justin Lee Romaniuk, January 23, 2017, and an infant sister, Linda Mae Lafarier. In keeping with Dot's wishes, no funeral service or visitation will be observed. Memorials may be made to Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department.
