Obituary of Nancy A. Harte

Nancy A. Harte, 67, of Jamestown entered into eternal peace at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA on April 26, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born November 10, 1956, in Olean, NY, middle child of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Levandoski) Harte. Nancy graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1974 and enlisted in the Army. She served 3 years as a substance abuse counselor at Ft. Hood, Texas. After being honorably discharged, Nancy returned to the Jamestown area where she enrolled at Jamestown Community College. During her time at JCC, she traveled with fellow students to London for a program that featured attendance at several theater productions. Later, Nancy graduated with honors from the Medical Records Specialist program at Jamestown Business College. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, attending both classical and rock concerts (she had an impressive vinyl collection) and trying new recipes. Most of all, she loved her cats – several of which she rescued from the streets. Nancy is survived by her four siblings – Eileen (Chris) Carlson, Mary (Shelly Sandau) Harte, Chris Harte and Sheila (Vladimir) Dmitriev; nephews Aaron Carlson, Brendan (Ashley) Carlson, Logan Harte, Brian (Chelsea) Harte, Aidan Dmitriev and Declan Dmitriev and niece – Lydia Harte, as well as several great-nieces and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Ashley Julia Sandau. A memorial and remembrance celebration will be held this summer. The family suggests memorials be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701 or visit their website to donate at www.chqhumane.org.
