Obituary of George E. Rowley Jr.

George E. Rowley, Jr., 89, of 3615 Nutt Road, Died Saturday April 27, 2024, in Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab, Dunkirk. He was born March 16, 1935, in Jamestown, a son of the late George and Florence Kinneston Rowley. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was employed by SKF as a factory worker. George has a collection of over 8000 Hot Wheels. He loved tending his garden, owning pickup trucks and being around children, especially his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife Margaret Wells Rowley, whom he married May 20, 1961; two children George W. Rowley and Cathy (Kevin) Burch both of Jamestown; eight grandchildren Brandon, Cavan, Spencer, Dalton, Colton, Christian, Joshua, and Jayden; nine great grandchildren and two sisters Alberta Wilson of Frewsburg and Betty Polly of Michigan. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Wood and Jim, Alan "Bud", and Kenneth Rowley. The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-6 Wednesday and for one hour prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home.
