Obituary of Ella Mae Gibbs
Ella Mae Gibbs, 88, of Button Valley Road, Ashville, died Sunday April 28, 2024, in UPMC Hamot, Erie.
She was born April 29, 1935, in Bear Lake, PA, a daughter of the late Carl and Claudia Kolstee Crosby.
Ella Mae was a graduate of Panama Central School.
Prior to her retirement she was employed by Bush Industries. She earlier had worked for Sylvania, Falconer Metal Specialties, BOCES and Chautauqua High School.
She was a member of Watts Flats United Methodist Church and in recent years enjoyed watching the live stream of The Rock Church.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed time spent sitting on her porch in the sun.
Surviving are five children Rodney (Charlene) Gibbs, Roger (Debbie) Gibbs, and Cynthia (Jamison) Yoder all of Ashville, Sandra Terry of Monroe, NC and Brian (Debbie Crandall) Gibbs of Ashville; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and a brother Lee (Betty) Crosby of Bear Lake, PA.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Gibbs, whom she married November 11, 1955, and who died November 10, 1998; a son Phillip Gibbs and siblings James, Earl, Lyle, Claude, Gerald, Mary, Arlene, Carlene and Carol.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Friday in The Rock Church where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Friday.
Burial will be in Blockville Cemetery.
