Obituary of Lucille M. McChesney

Lucille M. McChesney, 92, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday May 5, 2024, at Novant Health Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. She was born March 5, 1932, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Everett and Alice Carlson Jones. Lucille was a 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School and continued her education at Fredonia State University with a master's degree in education. She was a teacher at Bemus Point Elementary School for 25 years until she retired in 1999 but continued substitute teaching for many years after retirement. Surviving is her three sons: Everett McChesney and his wife Jenna of Warren, PA, Wayne McChesney and his wife Brenda of Matthews, NC, and David McChesney and his wife Kim of Valparaiso, IN; nine grandchildren: Erica Burkholder, John McChesney, Misty Werth and their mother Tracy McChesney, Jay McChesney, Carrie Cox, Christy McChesney, Matthew McChesney, Dan McChesney, Nathan McChesney; seven great grandchildren: David, Ashley, Marcia, Michael, Lilly, Kira, Lucas; her step grandchildren: Elizabeth Stump, Rachael Beier, Megan Stump, and Jeremiah Stump. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband John S. McChesney whom she married July 27, 1957, and who died June 26, 1995. The funeral will be held at 10 am Tuesday May 14, 2024, at the Lind Funeral home. Friends will be received Monday from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home.
