Obituary of Roy M. Green
Roy M. Green, 81, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at his home in Kennedy, NY.
He was born Dec. 5, 1942 in Jamestown, a son of the late Clifford Earl and Marjorie Hazel Abbey Green. Growing up in Kennedy, he graduated from Falconer High School before serving in the US Navy from 1961 to 1966. Following military service, Roy earned his associate degree at Jamestown Community College. A lifelong farmer, Roy had also been an instructor at the Red Cross and was a ham radio operator. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years he enjoyed geocaching with his wife. He was a great dancer, could do a mean Polka and had a personality larger than life.
Surviving is his wife, Frances E. Green whom he married in 1966; three children: Clifford D. Green (Yvonne and family) of Falconer, Roxanne Green-Wood (Gene) of Spencerport, NY, and Roy C. Green (Meredith) of Webster, NY; four grandchildren: Jordan D. G. Wood and Grace A. Wood, both of Spencerport, and Connor F. O. Green and Kahlan A. Green, both of Webster; and a brother, Larry B. Green of Hudson, FL.
A private family service was held, visitation will not be observed.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans, or to Pick of the Litter, 1805 E. Elmwood Ave., Falconer, NY 14733.
