Obituary of Ann Marie Olson

Ann Marie Olson, 90, formerly of 1480 Forest Ave. Ext., passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was the widow of Roy Folke Olson whom she married Nov. 1, 1958 and who died Jan. 18, 2018. An area resident most of her life, Ann Marie was born Nov. 5, 1933 in Gottenburg, Sweden, the daughter of the late Tage J. and Linnea M. Svensen Johansson. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at the former Manor Oak SNF and for 16 years as a seamstress at Wellman Brothers Furniture. Ann Marie was also formerly a member of Bethel Lutheran Church for some 30 years and enjoyed gardening and baking. Surviving are two sons: Mark D. (Pauline) Olson of Jamestown and Ruben J. (Karen) Olson of Amherst, NH; five grandchildren: Justin and Matthew Olson of Jamestown, Ashleigh Olson of Colorado, and Andrea and Adam Olson of Amherst, NH; two step-granddaughters: Erin Black of Jamestown and Nicole Badgley of Ashville, NY; and six great-grandchildren. Along with her husband Roy, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Johansson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Lemon will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Memorials may be given to any charity supporting children with special needs.
