Obituary of H. Allen Johnson
H. Allen Johnson, 92, of The Magnolia in Frewsburg, formerly of Bemus Point, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at UPMC Chautauqua.
He was born at home in Bemus Point on March 1, 1932, a son of the late Rudolph and Ethel Hill Johnson and graduated from Bemus Point High School in 1949.
In earlier years, Allen drove a delivery truck for Strate Welding before owning a service station in Ripley, NY. Following training he then worked as a TV repairman for the former Edborg's TV and Appliance before becoming a machinist for Ring Punch & Die. After retiring, he worked part time for Anderson Cleaners and Jamestown Boiler Shop. A man of many talents, he also enjoyed making jewelry and was formerly a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Surviving is a son, Scott (Debbie) Johnson of Jamestown and daughter, Robyn (Curtis) Langford of Alvin, TX; and two grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Johnson and Katie Johnson, both of Jamestown.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Harrington Johnson in 2007; a daughter, Cynthia A. Johnson in 2019; as well as a brother, Donald Johnson and sister, Bernice Swanson.
Following his wishes, no service or visitation will be observed. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.
