Obituary of Glenndene M. Crofoot

Glenndene M. Crofoot, 81, of 50 Howard St., Fredonia, formerly of Westfield and North East, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA. She was born August 12, 1928 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Glen and Viola Ostrom Ahlgren and received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Fredonia. Glenndene taught 2nd grade classes at Westfield Academy and Central School for many years. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, New York State Teachers Assoc. and Delta Kappa Gamma. Her many interests included travel, jigsaw puzzles, knitting and reading. Surviving are two sons, James (Nancy) Crofoot of Jamestown and Stephen (Denise) Crofoot of Fredonia; six grandchildren: Jason White, Elizabeth Goodban, Emily Crofoot, Jennifer Eimers, Michael Crofoot and Jonathan Crofoot; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Crofoot whom she married September 20, 1947 and who died November 19, 1996, a son, Thomas Crofoot, and a sister, Margaret King. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Roger Eimers will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
