Obituary of Carol E. Rogerson

Carol E. Rogerson, 82, of Overlook Terrace, Bemus Point, NY and Ft. Myers, FL, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Sunday (September 19, 2010) at the home of his son in Alva, FL. He was born December 6, 1927 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Willis S. and Marie C. Venman Rogerson. Carol was a 1947 graduate of Jamestown High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1945 - 1946 with duty in China. Before his retirement he was Chief Executive Officer of the Northwestern Service Corporation, a company he founded in Berea, OH. He was a former member of the Moonbrook Country Club and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Surviving are his children, J. Scott (Peggy) Rogerson of Albuquerque, NM, Beth S. Rogerson (Peter) of Stockholm, Sweden, Stephen (Shelly) Rogerson of Alva, FL, James (Sue) Rogerson of Berea, OH, his grandchildren Benjamin (Christine) Rogerson of Chicago, IL, Scott C. Rogerson of Albuquerque, NM, Nicholas Neelis, Maribeth (Scott) Hollingsed, Rebecca Neelis all of Denver, CO, Tor Walfridsson of Stockholm, Sweden, Michael Rogerson, Zachary Hart both of Alva, FL, Tyler Rogerson, Daniel Rogerson, Kyle Rogerson all of Berea, OH, his sister Elsie (Art) Carlson of Jamestown, his sister-in-laws Ruth Rogerson, Jeannine Skibsted, Thelma (Russ) Ecklund all of Jamestown, Rachel Lockwood of Waterford, PA, Bea Strickland of CA, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, the former Mary Anderson Rogerson whom he married September 2, 1950 and who passed away June 24, 2007, and his brothers Jonas, Myron, Alvin Rogerson, his grandson Mathew and daughter-in-law Laura who died in 1995 and his granddaughter Taylor who died in 2008. A memorial service will be hel d at 1:00 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. His son Stephen Rogerson will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13507 in honor of Mary Rogerson.
