Obituary of Evelena S. Larson

Evelena S. Larson, 94, formerly of Frewsburg and Jamestown, died Friday October 1, 2010, in Meadville, PA. A Jamestown native, she was born January 15, 1916, the daughter of Edwin and Avis Story Swanson. Following graduation from Frewsburg High School she graduated from nursing school Genesee School of Nursing in Rochester. She was employed by WCA Hospital in Jamestown and Spencer Hospital in Meadville as a registered nurse. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are children Larry (Vi) Larson of Oak Hill, VA, Dan (Carol) Larson of Knoxville, TN, Susan (Richard) Abbondanza of Meadville, PA and John (Stephanie) Larson of East Aurora, NY; grandchildren Jeff (Michelle) Larson, Andrew (Sandy) Larson, Stephanie Cover, Dan (Megan) Larson II, Robert (Diane) Abbondanza, David (Tiffany) Abbondanza, John (Karen) Larson II and Michael (Sarah) Larson and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband A. LaVerne Larson, whom she married September 19, 1940, and who died in 1985 and a grandson Jason Larson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home, Jamestown NY. Pastor Warren VanDewark will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg. Friends and family will be received for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home.
