As friends of Brenda & Chuck, we were lucky to have shared a few memorable times with Neva. She was ever the gracious hostess at Bear Lake and always quick with a welcoming smile whenever visitors arrived. I'll also always remember how generous she was with her time and talent when I needed help with my knitting. You were one "swell" woman Neva... we will miss you.

We are so sorry we will not be in Jamestown on Monday. Your mother was so welcoming to our family when we spent time at Bear Lake with Brenda, Chuck and family. We have some very happy memories of her. She was a wonderful person.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Neva was such a wonderful person. I had many special days with her at Quality Markets' office. She was so good to me and a very good friend. May God give all of you the peace and comfort you need during this very difficult time.
Blessings, Bob and JoAnn Carlson

My sympathies go out to Brenda, Chuck, Bryan, Kaye and children. It was with a heavy heart that I received the news of Neva's passing. She was like a second mother to me since about 1950...always there with the sugar treats and later conversation and understanding. I spent a lot of time with the Carlson family. Shop picnics, summers at Bear Lake, and family reunions...I was fortunate to visit with her the last time I was in Jamestown. One lovely lady. She will be greatly missed. God bless. I was blessed to live next to Neva for many, many years. We both liked working outside and would spend our time sitting on her front steps just chit chatting. Our favorite subject was what flowers we were going to plant that year. She was a wonderful, beautiful person who I will miss dearly. Love you Neva.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of my Aunt Nev.
So many special memories spring to mind. Peterson Christmas Eves at 33 Douglas Place, where she and her seven brothers and sisters were raised. Fourth of July family gatherings at Bear Lake. Her legendary butterscotch brownies. The welcoming smile and ever-present pot of coffee on the kitchen counter.
I remember Aunt Nev and Uncle Bob making the 10-hour drive from Jamestown to my home in Boston 16 years ago to spend an evening with their brother Bertil. And I’ll never forget having to call their hotel the following morning to tell them my father had died.
Our thoughts are with Brenda and Bryan and their families at this difficult time. Even though it is not possible for us to be with the family on Monday, Aunt Nev’s death leaves a void felt around the world.

I remember Neva from the many weekends I spent staying with my Aunt Floy who lived next door. Neva was always ready with milk and cookies which we would enjoy on the glider outside at the back of the house. Elmer was always doing something outside. So I would visit with him while he worked. I particularly remember the peonies along the driveway. Neva was always welcoming and a very nice lady. I will always remember her with a smile.
