Dear Donna, Carleen, Carl and family,
Ron and I are so sorry to hear of Adelaide's passing, but we are happy to know that she is resting in God's arms relieved of her suffering. Because of the distance from Columbus (Ohio), we very regretfully will not be able to attend but will certainly be there with you in our hearts.
Adelaide was a cheerful, hard-working woman who was like a second mom to me especially when Donna and I were in high school and at JCC. If I couldn't find a way to her house to hang out with Donna, she would drive all the way across town to pick me up and take me home again. She was always kind, welcoming and had a wonderful infectious laugh which fueled our conversations as we would all sit and chat. Some of my fond memories are eating chocolate pie for breakfast (high school) and later after Donna and Pat were married, hearing Adelaide say to Donna, "Donna I am working... I can't give you cooking lessons over the phone every night at dinner time!" What enjoyable times those were. I felt like part of the family.
I will pray for your comfort and peace especially for Carl as you all adjust. Isn't that what life is...a series of adjustments?
With deepest love and affection,
Cherre Monaco
