My mother Lucille Cheney, Lucy's cousin was so proud of Lucy's accomplishments as a pastor and she often told me how her cousin started a church in Clymer. I knew little about Lucy at that time but that she had twins like my mother did. When Lucy officiated my Uncle Bill Rowley's memorial service at her church it was the first time that I had been in the Good Shepard Church. When Lucy knew that my husband Bill and I were Christians we bonded as if we knew each other personally all our lives. When my mom got sick I would let Lucy know how she was and she prayed for all of us. When things looked really bad for my mom, Lucy and Bruce came to the hospital to see my mom. Lucy also visited my mom at her house after that and talked to my mom about her belief in God. Lucy felt my mom was saved by the questions she asked her. Lucy was such a support to me during this time. I began to visit the Church to hear her preach and a few times I brought my friends who she also impacted. In the last year I had not kept in touch with her until I called her to invite her to a retreat the Sunday before my mom died. She always asked how everyone was in my family and especially my mom. I told Lucy at that time that my mom was getting very weak. We hoped to get together soon and have lunch. Little did we know that by Thursday I would be calling her back asking her to help with my mom's funeral.
Lucy I am so privileged to be a part of your final journey
although for now I would have rather we went to lunch and that you took this trip later.
I know that God knows all about us to the very number of hairs on our head, the day we are born and the day we will die a physical life. I know that for now it is not my time but when It is I can't wait to see everyone especially you and embrace each other never having to say goodbye again. I pray that I may do God's will and bring honor to you. Love you always. Debbie Greenwald

Dear Mom, When I got the call monday that you were not feeling well, I worried as I did for most of my adult life because we were too far away. I thank God that I got to spend two whole summers and christmas with you. When that dreadful call came last Wednesday, while I was talking to you on the hospital phone from Seattle, I knew I was so far away and felt so helpless. I said the words I love you over the phone and my heart stopped with yours when the nurse took the phone and said you were gone. You were the love of my life, the hope and the very tenderness of my joy. My heart is empty without you. No son could ever love his mom like I loved you. I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for the 48 years with you. Mom rest but for awhile; let Jesus see you smile and one day when its time, you will see me in heavens line... love, your son, Scott

My deepest sympathies to Lucy's family, to Lacy, and to the many people that Lucy touched. The world has lost a spitfire, but HEAVEN has gained an Angel. She fed the hungry, clothed the poor, gave hope to the hopeless, and was always ready to do battle for her LORD and SAVIOR. And to think that she was just getting warmed up! Although we are sad to lose her, cartons of donuts says that she is jumping up and down in HEAVEN, basking in GOD'S LIGHT, and saying "I knew it was true, I knew it was true".

Lucy taught me soo much about listening to The Lord. She would speak what the Holy Spirit compelled her say in the very moment she felt it in her heart. I know that there are many who would agree she made a deep impact on our spiritual growth & understanding of faith. My prayers go out to the family she loved so much and Those who have been a part of the The Good Shepard.

I got to know Pastor Zulick, through her booking reservations at the Holiday Inn Express in Findley Lake, N.Y. for her twin sons to come to Clymer to see her....You never seen a mother so delighted to see her sons like her, you could see the sparkle in her eyes and hear it in her voice when they were coming home for Christmas to stay awhile. Lucy, was truely a women of god, and I enjoyed talking to her, she was a very special women and mother....May god bless and take care of her boys/families.

My Dear Aunt Lucy I will miss your encouraging words. You were so kind to me and always remembered me in your prayers. You did so much for so many people, and expected nothing in return. You were a friend to the friendless, a mother to the motherless, a sister to the sisterless. You will be greatly missed.
