Obituary of William E. Warner
William E. "Bill" Warner, 84, of High Acres, Bemus Point, NY passed away at 1:02 p.m. Thursday (February 3, 2011) at his home.
A lifelong area resident he was born June 22, 1926 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Carl A. and Linnea Erickson Warner.
He had attended Jamestown High School and Jamestown Business College.
Bill served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1943, at the age of 17, during World War II.
Before his retirement he was employed by the former Royal Metal Company. For the past 20 years he was an active volunteer at W.C.A. Hospital, where he received several awards for his many hours of devoted service.
Surviving are three nieces, Barbara Wood of Tuross Head, Australia, Joan Davis of Cape Canaveral, FL, Brenda Bird of Lexington, SC, three nephews Terry Warner, Dennis Warner both of Jamestown, NY, Brian Warner of Eldersburg, MD, and by several grand nieces and grand nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Carl E. Warner, Bertil Warner and by his companion of 20 years Renee Horsfall.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Sunset Hill Cemetery Chapel. The Rev. Lavern Terrill, retired pastor will officiate. Visitation will not be observed.
