Obituary of Steven T. Leonard
Steven T. Leonard, 59, of 1670 Riverside Road in Jamestown, died unexpectedly at 6:26 p.m. Monday (March 7, 2011) in WCA Hospital.
He was the husband of Susan Mead Leonard whom he married April 1, 1973.
Steve was born in Jamestown on February 21, 1952, a son of Rachel Blanchard Leonard and the late Irvin F. Leonard Jr., and was a 1970 graduate of Jamestown High School.
He owned and operated Leonard Construction & Supply for many years. A member of the Kiantone Planning Board, he was also a longtime, active member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Steve was an avid pilot who was passionate about flying. He loved time with his grandchildren as well as countless numbers of friends. With the largest and kindest heart, he helped anybody and everybody.
In addition to his wife and his mother of Jamestown, surviving are four children: Paul T. Leonard of Cuba, NY, Sherry (Ken) Leonard Moore of Jamestown, James (Ann) Leonard of North Carolina and Debra (Brian) Miller of Cassadaga; eight grandchildren: Allen Button, Hailey Moore, Jacob Moore, Rhonda Sue Leonard, James Leonard Jr., Jayden Leonard, Brian Miller Jr. and Beverly Miller; two brothers, James E. Leonard of Forestville and Lynn F. Leonard of Falconer; and a sister, Elaine Hunter of Edmond, OK.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Covenant Church. The Rev. Ray Linza will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
