Obituary of Shayne Larson

Shayne Larson, 61, of 176 Pleasant View Drive, died Wednesday March 16, 2011 in WCA Hospital following a brief illness. He was born October 1, 1949 in Warren, Pa, the son of the late Roger and Orpha Sandell Larson. He was a 1967 graduate of Jamestown High School. Shayne was employed for many years at Shults Auto Group where he held numerous management positions, most recently as Sales Manager at Kia of Jamestown. Cars were one of his biggest passions in life, and he was fortunate he could enjoy that passion every day at work. He retired from Shults in October of 2010, due to his illness. In his youth, he was an accomplished baseball player, pool player and bowler. He also had a passion for golf. He was a member of Moon Brook Country Club for many years where he caddied as a young adult, and then went on to become an accomplished golfer as well. He was physically active for most of his adult life, and was a member of the YMCA for many years. He was an avid sports fan. He loved cheering for the Yankees, Bills and Sabres. And he also loved watching the Gold Channel. Shayne was also a country music fan and an accomplished guitar player. Throughout his high school years, he was a member of rock bands that enjoyed a great deal of local popularity. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Larson, whom he married April 22, 1978, three children Sean (Heidi) Larson and Gregory Larson, both of Jamestown, Melanie Short of Tulsa, OK, five grandchildren Nate, Ben, and Noah Larson, and Matthew and Ryan Bullock, and his uncle Verdun Sandell of Falconer.
