I will very much miss the little conversations I had with Mary Jane over the years, when she delivered my Avon purchases, brought us Christmas cookies or some of Courtney's birthday cake, the newspaper clippings she saved for my bulletin board at St. James church, etc. We talked about our families, trips, progress in the neighborhood, etc. I valued her opinion and perspective. She was a smart, hard working, independent and kind lady. I couldn't believe her age. She always looked so pretty, and I will never forget her or her beautiful blue eyes. Her love of her big wonderful family was so evident. I was looking forward to visiting with her more when I stopped working, and I'm so sorry I had not made the time yet. I hope you all continue to get together and share family stories and recipes as you did with Mary Jane. Paul & I send our deepest sympathies to all of you. God Bless you all,Love & Prayers, Linda and Paul Demler

It is always sad to lose loved ones. I did not know Mary Jane, but I am familiar with her in-laws, the original John Greys. I went to live with foster parents on Prendergast Ave. as a very young girl. We lived upstairs and the Greys lived downstairs. The only sibling I had contact with was Richard (Bud) Grey. He is older than me. I do know who Eloyce (sp.?) is as she married Tom Augustine at the time. I remember the Leons also. I can't recall Mary Jane's husband. This family must be the grandparents of Kathleen Augustine. I just wanted to let her know how wonderful they were. They moved over to Eighth Street when my foster parents had to move down stairs due to health problems. I read the obituaries on internet because I live in Coastal Georgia. God Bless Mary Jane's family. She must have been a loving person.

Dear Grey Family, especially the sons Bruce and Randy whom I knew growing up on the west side. I am sorry to read of your loss of your Mom. I met Mrs. Grey, a few times at your old home when we were teens and played in your yard. It might help to recollect that I was best friends with Gary & Tracy Leon when we lived accross from each other on Baker Street. I also knew Ramon Grey and I conducted his mother's (Edith Grey Leon)estate sale.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Grey family. I feel a sadness when I see the parent pass of someone I knew. May the thoughts of your friends and family at this time help ease you through this difficult time. May the many memories you share keep her forever in your hearts.

To all my cousins, my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your Mom. I will always fondly remember those days when we were kids, your Mom's laugh, her smile, her sense of humor and her kind and gracious heart. My Mom has shared many stories of the "old days" with us and the times with your Mom and Dad. I am sure your sadness is profound and I am sad for all of you...I know you will always have those cherished memories of your Mom that will live on through your children and family. Take comfort that she is at peace and may God bless and watch over all of you. Love, Gina

Loy Marsh posted a condolence

I am writing for my mom, Loy Grey Marsh, who is the sister of John Grey, Mary Jane's husband. My mom is almost 90 yrs old. Over the years, and especially this past year, she has told many stories of her times spent with Mary Jane and "Junie." Those early days, when she and hubby Tom Augustine would bring their 7 children to Jamestown to be with Junie and MaryJane's 6 children, and vice versa. As her child, I recall the trips... such fun! And the July 4th trips to Allegheny State Park. My mom is sad because she won't be able to get to the funeral; she is grieving her loss and praying for you all. God be with you; I thank Him for everlasting life and that we will reunite with our loved ones again.
