Obituary of Josephine V. Papa
Josephine V. Papa, 92, formerly of Memory Garden and 6 Hillcrest Avenue, died Friday June 3, 2011, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
A lifelong are resident, she was born April 29, 1919, a daughter of the late Emil and Mary Sullivan Panebianco.
She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and was employed for over 30 years by Betty Dixon Candies.
She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society.
She had volunteered in the WCA Hospital Gift Shop for many years.
Josephine was the most loving and selfless wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She lived for her family and cherished every single moment with them. She had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren. They looked forward to spending time during the summer with her and Grandpa. Days would be filled with trips to Allen Park, Chautauqua Lake and Lake View Cemetery to name a few. No matter where the time was spent, it was always filled with smiles and laughter and love from Grandma. She encouraged every interest and endeavor and never judged. Her love was limitless and unconditional and she showed that deep love with hugs and kisses and undying support. She had so many wonderful stories to tell about her life. She never took herself too seriously, and her purpose was always to make her grandchildren happy, to provide for their needs and to share with them the colorful experiences life had to offer. Her laughter was infectious- many hours were spent laughing, playing and having fun. She was also able to lend an ear when things were not so bright, offering advice and the comfort of her embrace. As we grandchildren grew older, the love and laughter continued, and only intensified and spread to our spouses and children. She always had love to give and we will ALL miss her deeply.
Surviving are three children Diane (Jerry) Wybranski of Chadds Ford, PA, Benedict Papa of Tualatin, OR and Susan Fox of Wilmington, DE; seven grandchildren Lisa Kleingarn of Minneapolis, MN, Susan Swartz of Chadds Ford, Kate Hunsinger of West Chester, PA, Elizabeth Wybranski, Andrew Fox and Alicia Fox all of Wilmington and Kelly Fox of New York City; four great grandchildren Bennie, Julian, Alexa and Max; her beloved sister Margaret Nicosia and brother Dr. Joseph Panebianco and many dear nieces and nephews.
