My father, my mentor, my guide, my role model. He was always there. He was forever giving, never vengeful, and though I'm sure I tried his patience, I always knew he would give all for us kids and mom. He was the 'community dad' always playing baseball, kickball, or something with us and our friends even though he was tired from work. I miss the walks in the woods where he taught us about plants, animals, and nature. We used to go for long car rides in the evenings. Family was everything to mom and dad. He taught me to draw, to play baseball, to appreciate nature, and to be a good, honest person and cherish those values. The greatest gift my dad gave us was a sense of humor. He was always doing things to make us laugh and make our lives fun. To say that he is missed is an understatement. To say that he was and is loved is a fact.
