Obituary of Jerry R. Lamper, Jr.
Jerry R. Lamper, Jr, 56, of 50 Charles St. Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly at 7:59 p.m. Wednesday (September 14, 2011) in his home.
An area resident for most of his life he was born June 3, 1955 in Jamestown, NY a son of Jerry R. Lamper, Sr and Evangeline Tollivoro Lamper.
He was a graduate of Maple Grove High School and had attended Jamestown High School and Fredonia State College.
Jerry was a self employed contractor in the Jamestown area and was recently employed by Jamestown Metal Products.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing and watching baseball, reading and spending time on the lake. He was also an animal lover and cared about all of his pets, but most of all he loved spending time with his children and was a volunteer with the Fluvanna Boy Scout Troop.
Surviving are his father of Jamestown, his mother of Bemus Point, his three children Tomasina Lamper, currently attending D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY, twin sons Mitchell and Joshua Lamper of Bemus Point, his two sisters Vicky (David) Butler of Mooresville, NC, Laurie (Vinney) Salerno of Winnebago. MO, along with many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Minnie (Corio) Tollivoro, Stephen J. Tollivoro, Sr., Clair and Alma Lamper and his Aunt Mary Ann Fitzgerald.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bemus Point. The Rev. Todd Remick, pastor will be celebrant. Visitation will not be observed.
