I remember Janet so well. We went to high school together at Elizabeth Seton. Janet was always upbeat and friendly. We were in the South Catholic plays together as well, and Janet was a great performer. Her role as Albert's mother in "Bye Bye Birdie" was amazing and truly funny. I have good memories of spending time with Janet in high school and I am saddened by her death. I shall pray for her.

As a member of that same "little group" back in Pittsburgh during the 60s, I echo Ursula's sentiments. I also just found out, and regret that I've waited until now to start looking for long-lost old friends. Janet certainly was one of our leaders and I'll always think of her that way, along with so many memories of the great times we all shared.

Janet was a dear friend of mine at Robert Morris College in the late 60s. As life moved on, we lost track of each other. Occasionally I would search the internet for her, but never found her ... until today. Today I was writing a blog post about a play, The Children's Hour that Janet directed me in, in college. It prompted me to do another search for her. Today I found Janet ... only to learn that I have lost her forever. I am so saddened. It was heartening, though, to read all of the wonderful posts that her family and friends wrote about Janet. It brought her to life for me - if only for those moments. My thoughts go out to her family and friends. I am so sorry to have missed her.
If you want to read the blog post that brought me to learning about Janet, see the information below my signature.
Sincerely,
Donna

We are so sad to hear about Janet's death - we will miss her dearly. Janet had a great sense of humour, a caring attitude, was very intelligent, witty, compassionate and kind to say the least. Our times at each others homes, the cottage, Niagara Falls, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela will never be forgotten. Byrd - we love you and you are in our thoughts

We met Janet & Byrd several years ago camping in Panama City Beach. We moved to the beach over 3 years ago. We have always enjoyed visiting, eating out, beach days and watching the sunset. We had a blast in Niagara Falls. We share some awesome memories. We counted the days until "the girls" would be back in town. I rarely watch a sunset that I do not think of Janet & Byrd...always will. My heart is broken that Janet is no longer with us. She will be truly missed. We love you Bryd...consider yourself hugged. We are so very thankful to have been friends with such a special lady.

Janet was loved by everyone at Lander Elementary School! She loved her students and taught them well. I had the privelege of teaching with Janet for fifteen years. We were a family in that little, wonderful school, and we have happy, sad, funny, and crazy memories. Bryd, I extend my deepest sympathy to you. Know that she loved you. God bless you.

It is hard to believe that someone so full of life is no longer with us. Byrd, you must have so many wonderful memories. Let those memories be a comfort to you at this difficult time. Sorry I can't make the celebration of her life because I am sure it will really be a celebration. She wouldn't want it any other way! Everything she did was with gusto. I can still see her teaching and marveling at the way she was able to get the most resistant student to learn. She touched so many lives. We adults learned from her also. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Janet, sister, earth---you "grew me up" emotionally, intellectually, socially, physically, mentally and spiritually. Much of who I am today came from your nurturing and wisdom. Thank you, my friend. I will miss you. Happy trails, until we meet again.
Byrdie and Betty, my deepest sympathy. My sadness is so deep, I can't even imagine the depth of yours. I hope you can find peace in how well she loved and was loved on this earth.

Was so sorry to learn of Janet's passing. I had the privilege of working with Janet at Lander Elem. School the 5 years I taught there. I recall how much she enjoyed her students, how much effort and caring she put into her teaching, and how much her students loved her...she was a blessing to any student who had Janet for his/her teacher. I recall the carpooling adventures and laughs we often had to and from school...never a dull moment! It was a pleasure to have worked with and known Janet. My deepest sympanthies go out to Byrd and to the rest of Janet's family and friends.
