Obituary of Janet M. Lilli
Janet M. Lilli, 65, of 61 Harris Avenue in Jamestown died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in WCA Hospital following a short and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 19, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late Dominic and Hazel Young Lilli.
Janet was a graduate of Elizabeth Seton High School in Pittsburgh and California State University. She received her Master's degree from Edinboro State College.
A special education teacher, she taught in Warren County for 30 years, primarily at Lander Elementary School.
Janet loved playing golf, belonging to the Mulligan Mamas and South Hills Country Club. She was also a member of the Eagles. She had travelled extensively in the United States, Europe and Caribbean Islands. Lately, she enjoyed wintering in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Janet will be sadly missed at Sneakers, the SOTRC in Warren, by her golf friends, bridge partners and by her cats.
She is survived by her partner of 37 years, Mary "Byrd" Ledebur of Jamestown; a sister, Betty (Michael) Soloweigh of Murrysville, PA; a niece, Jessica (Jeremy) Cromer of Woodstock, MD and nephew, Todd (Megan Corrado) Soloweigh of Washington, DC; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a Celebration of Life, beginning at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 1st at Sneakers, 100 Harrison Street in Jamestown.
