On behalf of those in the Western New York rail history community who knew Victor personally and through his work as a photographer, I want to express my deepest condolences on his passing. We hope his legacy will be preserved.
Vic deserves to be remembered and honored for his immense contributions to the Fenton History Center, mostly in its earlier years. He was a man of honesty, generosity, and integrity, good sense and quick intelligence. His knowledge of the lake, the steamboats, the railroads, the trolley lines will never be equaled. He was a superb photographer. Not well known is that he provided material for three excellent photo books on 1940’s Hawaiian railroads.
Vic was a hard worker and was honest in his dealings -- qualities that were often overlooked in his day and are even more scarce as time goes by.
Hopefully his attitude towards fishermen has softened given St. Peter's previous profession.
