Obituary of Victor E. Norton, Jr.

Victor E. Norton, Jr., 90, originally of Bemus Point, died Monday September 26, 2011 in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A lifelong area resident, he was born February 15, 1921, in Jamestown, a son of the late Victor and Marie Johnson Norton, Sr. He graduated from Bemus Point High School. He served in the US Navy and was in Hawaii following the Pearl Harbor attack. He worked alongside his father in the family business, Norton's Boats and Cottages in Bemus Point. Following his father's death he became owner/operator. He was a member of the Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Fenton History Center. Surviving are his wife the former Edna Walrod, whom he married September 18, 1948 and a son Bruce (Cheryl) Norton of Burlington, NC. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Arden C. Norton. A private graveside service was held September 30, at the Bemus Point Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fenton History Center, 67 Washington Street, Jamestown, NY 14701.
