I learned of Bill's passing from my Dad, Denny, when he was here for a recent visit.
I have many fond memories of Bill when I was a young child. He always had some treat for me (being he was my Godfather), and had a wonderful, kind smile.
May he rest in peace.

Dear Donna & Susan,
It's hard to believe that Bill has passed. He was a true friend to me. He always "had my back." From the early days at W/K Co. he was always someone who would gladly help me.
I'm a better man for having known him.
God Bless,
Peter

Dear Donna, I learned just today of Bill's passing on October 16. I am so very sorry for your loss. He and Marty were best of friends and I remember a lot of bantering always going on between them. Bill had a quick wit and great sense of humor...never missing an opportunity to make comment on the "moment at hand." Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers as you all mourn his passing, and continue on your paths of life. Bill will always be with you.

What is there to say about Bill as there are so many wonderful things to say about him. I first met Bill when we were in grade school at Euclid Avenue School and we went all through school together, both growing up on the North side of town. I would see him and family once in a while at the Vikings when he and family were having dinner together. Again at WCA Hospital throughout the years when he was having testing done. He reminded me of this when we were working on the 45th and 50th 1960 class reunions together. Bill was a visionary wanting to provide something lasting for other generations from the money donated by our generous classmates at the 50th reunion. He was instrumental in setting up the scholarship fund through the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation which became his passion. When I would visit him at LSS the last few months, he always asked how our class was doing with the scholarships. I am truly sorry I have not been able to attend his memorial service with our classmates as my husband and I have been on our way south. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Donna, and family. Bill had talked to me numerous times about his little granddaughter and how much he loved her. Bill will be sadly missed. Rest in peace, Bill. I will miss you. Bonnie Biondolillo

Dear Donna and Susan
So many memories swirling through our minds. Bill has been in our lives since our teenage years and it seems impossible that he is gone. Steve will be missing the once or twice a week golf games, calls about whatever Bill was concentrating on at that time, help when we needed help, dinner at the Viking and all the things that make up a friendship. I remember the time I came home from college and Bill Denny and Steve were making spritz. Unfortunately they mixed up the amount of butter for flour and flour for butter. Green food coloring was also mixed in and army camo green blobs were the result.
We love you Bill and will miss you. Steve and Cindi

My deepest sympathy to Donna, Susan and Caroline-
It is so sad to lose another 1960 classmate- every morning during highschool, I would pick up Bill and we would start our long walk to school, picking up all our friends along the way. He always had a smile and a good word about his friends.
I will miss you Bill- hope you find my dad and you have a great round of golf with him.

Bill - it is so hard to believe you are no longer with us. My brother Tom just emailed this very sad note. No one could believe the crazy things we did in high school but we had a lot of fun. I remember your locker was down from mine and I wanted you to notice me so I stacked books on the shelf of your locker and they all fell on your head. I was glad I was there to see it. You probably wouldn't even remember it. You were so funny. I always kept the letters you sent to me from the service because they have always made me laugh when things get rough. You certainly were good with puns. My brother went to ACC at the time you did when it was a brick house across from WCA hospital. I don't know if he graduated with you or a year ahead. I always wonder where my classmates are and what they did throughout their lives. It sounds to me like you lived life to the fullest with your golf and everything else you got involved with. I wonder if you stayed in touch with Steve Bishop. I am so sorry for your family as I know this is a terrible loss for them. I don't know if I can do anything for them way down in Texas but if there is -- they can just let me know. This is such a shock and so much to take in. You were a very dear friend and your happiness spread to everyone. I never heard an ugly word out of your mouth. I don't want to say goodbye but I have rattled on too long as is. Please let your family know that I too am grieving for you. As long as we live -- you live also and we will never forget the stories. I do hope you didn't suffer much -- that would make me sad. Bye dear friend.

Lynn said to be sure and tell you the best "guys" trip he ever took was with Bill, John Engstrom and Jerry Stewart to the Masters. Bill gave them all golf lessons in the evenings after a day full of watching the pros. That trip was a taste of heaven for all! Please know we are thinking of you and love you...

Class of 1960. Bill was a friend to all he met. My family and I have been living in Gainesville, GA. since 1975. It was great to see him at our 50th reunion. Always with a smile on his face, you would have never known he was fighting cancer. Our sympathy goes out to all of his family. God bless and remember all of the good times.

Donna, Susan, Caroline & Rob: Losing Bill is just devastating and we know he is finally at rest and this awful struggle with cancer is over. We will miss the golf lessons and the weekly phone calls about how the Bills need to improve to go to the next Super Bowl. We also will miss our personal weather forecaster. He called to tell us what to expect at our home in North Carolina. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers. He was the best of friends.
