Obituary of William H. Price

William H. Price, Jr., 69, of 417 Front Street, Jamestown, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Bill lost a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 4, 1942, in Jamestown, the son of the late William H. and Linnea Paulson Price. Bill was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1962 graduate of Jamestown Community College. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1964 to 1966. From 1971 to 2000, he worked at Weber Knapp in Jamestown as a sales representative. He was a chairman for the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Commission and a past member of the Board of Directors for Moon Brook Country Club. Bill was also a 25 year member of the Ingjald Lodge #65 Independent order of the Vikings. He recently enjoyed being a part of his 50th high school reunion committee where he set up a class scholarship fund through the Community Foundation. Bill would want to be remembered for his love of golf and all sports. He was always trying to improve his game as well as inspire others through his natural coaching ability. Most of all, Bill loved being a father and a grandfather. He is survived by his wife Donna Crissey Price, whom he married April 2, 1977, his daughter Susan Price Churchill, his son-in-law John R. Churchill Jr., and a granddaughter Caroline Ava Churchill. Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Lind Funeral Home. A Celebration of his life will be held at Moon Brook Country Club on Sunday, October 23, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring your fondest memories.
