Obituary of Hildegard M. Hammond
Hildegard Mittermueller Hammond, 80, of 165 Aldren Ave., formerly of 71 Roland Road, died Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 20, 1931 in Salzburg, Austria and came to the United States in 1952.
A resident of Jamestown since 1958, she had in earlier years been employed by the Automatic Voting Machine Co. and retired after almost 30 years as a secretary from the Marlin Rockwell Co. in Jamestown.
She attended Fluvanna Community Church and was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Barbara Sharp and daughter-in-law, Rozanne Hammond, both of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Ricardo (Deborah) Hammond, Jr. of Jamestown, Michelle (Tom) Turner of Lakewood, Chuck Anzalone of Buffalo, Johnny Ray Anzalone and Javon Sharp of Jamestown, and Candy Borton of Pennsylvania; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Vinzez Mittermueller and niece, Alexandra Schlter, both of Germany.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hammond, whom she married December 21, 1963 and who died October 19, 1995; and a stepson, Ricardo Hammond, Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Monday.
