Mom - I miss you so much! I miss our morning and evening calls. The times that you lifted me up, and you always believed in me. You are and will always be MY SPECTACULAR MOM! You fought so hard and never complained. My heart is broken and I wish your smile was at my door now! I am so proud to be your son! I will always love and miss you dearly! Rick

The only memories I have of Mona are through her son Richard, who loved his mother with all his heart, because she was always there for him, and he for her. I know Mona fought a good fight for her life, and pray that her spirit continues to live on in her children, and grandchildren.

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I have not seen Mona for many years, however, she and my older sister, Margaret Harrison were good friends in High School and I remember her at my home a lot. My sister, Margaret, died way too young too; my thoughts are that they will now have an opportunity to catch up with each other. God bless.

What a wonderful person to know! Even after all she had gone through the last year and a half, Mona always had a smile on her face and never complained. I will always treasure the times in Florida during the winter and I am so glad she was able to make the trip to Niagara Falls with us when I visited in September. I'll miss you Mona, your smiling face and kind words. You are a special lady and you should be proud of the wonderful legacy you left behind in Rick and Jodi and little Ethan. Jim you are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this journey but know you have many friends and family you can always count on. I will be thinking of you all Tuesday night and wish I could be there. Love to all of you.

Aunt Mona is my example of a loving, optimistic person. She was always smiling and always there. I will greatly miss her and her random phone calls just asking me how I was doing. Her relationship with my uncle Jim has always demonstrated to me what love and marriage is all about. Mona fought this terrible cancer like a champ and now is able to rest. I know that she is looking down on us and will be guiding us from above. Love you Mona!

Rick, Jodi and Jim-I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom/wife. I remember attending Fluvanna Elementary and enjoying Mona's smiling face and caring personality that she exhibited for all those around her. I remember going to play with Jodi and sledding at her home too. She was a "big kid" and so much fun to be around. Many years later I had the privilege of teaching with Mona at Fluvanna and then at Bemus. She helped to pull the teachers together and made us all feel like "family." Since I left teaching I have missed my chats with her-she always had something exciting going on and was always trying something new. I loved to hear her updates about Jodi and Rick. My prayers go out to you all-may you know that she is in God's care now.

I was very sad to hear this news. I was one of Mona's second grade students in 1990. She was a fantastic teacher and encouraged us to do our best. I'm now a graduate student and am grateful for the many hours she dedicated to making Bemus Point Elementary a great place to go to school. My prayers are with her family and friends.

I did not know her personally but I've been friends with her wonderful son Rick for many years...and I do know that she raised a kind, loving and thoughtful man and to raise a child as special as he is~ who brings light to his friends and the world around him...I know she must be satisfied with her work on this earth and is smiling down on everyone now... My prayers and thoughts are with the entire family and wish them strength and peace.

Jim, Rick, Jody & John;
Mona was such a very special lady and the great times we had together bring back fond memories. She touched your life and everyone's around her. She was the one to do for others, but at the end of her journey she came to depend on the love of you, through your love, smiles, hugs and hope of those around her. We will keep her family in our prayers, and know her spirit is being shared with those above.

My heart breaks for all of you. Please let me know if you need anything. I will never forget the cats and when grandma was living there. She (grandma) would scream MONA! MOOOONNNAA! when the cats were "doing it"! Mona always immediately diffused the situation! No one is as special as a Momma. Rest now, the war is over for you.
