Obituary of Douglas Dilker, Jr.

Douglas L. Dilker Jr., 52, of 133 High Acres Bemus Point, formerly of Lakewood, died Sunday November 27, 2011 at home. He was born May 9, 1959 in Jamestown the son of Douglas L. and Marlene Mansfield Dilker Sr. Doug was a 1977 graduate of Southwestern Central High School where he ran track, making all state in the 880 and during his senior year, made states in cross country. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, serving until 1981 at Camp Lajune where he continued to run track. He then went to work for the State of New York in waste management in the Albany area. Before returning to the Jamestown area, he worked at SUNY Brockport as a boiler room operator and from 1995 until the present, was employed in the maintenance department at WCA Hospital. Doug was a member of the Marine Corp Fellowship and the Ellery Sno Goers Snowmobile Club. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan, a history buff, and enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. Surviving besides his parents of Bemus Point are, a son, Dustin (Sara) Dilker of Jamestown; two daughters, Daisha Dilker of Jamestown, Kay Dilker of Rochester; two sisters, Diane (David) Key of Kennedy; Darla (Kevin) Vik of Bemus Point; his lifelong best friend, Robert (Janis) Nau of San Diego, CA; nieces and nephews, Michael Key, Shannon (Dennis) Simmons, Kevin Vik, Ryan Vik, Andy Vik, Cole Vik; one great niece, Morgan Vik; two great nephews, Aaron and Joshua Simmons; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Byron and Ethel Dilker; Milo and Kathryn Mansfield; and three uncles, Dale Mansfield; Charles and Dennis Dilker. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial with Full Military Honors will be in the Wesleyan Cemetery, Sugar Grove, PA. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
