Obituary of Spencer H. Haynes

Spencer H. Haynes, 62, of Princess Anne, MD passed away on Thursday (December 8, 2011). A Maryland resident for over 40 years he was born October 17, 1949 in New York, NY a son of Patricia Hadley Haynes and the late John B. "Jack" Haynes. He was a 1967 graduate of Panama Central School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University where he was in the ROTC Program. He also did his graduate work at the University of Maryland. Before his retirement he was a Speech Pathologist working in several school systems in Maryland. He will be remembered as one who loved living by the ocean. He was an avid runner and enjoyed kayaking in the Atlantic Ocean. Surviving are his mother of Lakewood, NY, a sister Josephine Haynes Maring of Kennedy, NY, a daughter Jessica C. Pratt of New Hampshire, and his nephew's and niece Joshua J. Maring of Brookville, PA, Clayton D. Maring of Brooklyn, NY and Jamie J. Maring of Charlottesville, VA. He was preceded in death by his father who died March 16, 1998. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 26, 2011, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer, pastor of the Fluvanna Community Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Monday, December 26, 2011. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
