Dear Ruth.
My teacher. I credit my respect of grammar to her. I spent more afternoons after school in her classroom than any other(disciplinary reasons)because she was tough, took no bull*&^ from anyone especially me. She taught me a ton about NYS history as well. RIP Mrs. Gordon.

I had Mrs. Gordon as a home room teacher in 8th grade. She was a wonderful teacher and our class all loved her. She actually gave us a class party at the end of the year at her home. She will be missed, deeply. RIP to a great person who helped shape the lives of so many young people.

Our Mayville Class of 1966 has celebrated the memories of Mrs, G for 40 some years...recalling her many kindness, creative teaching styles, and colorful dresses and matching shoes. A wonderful teacher who cared enough to understand students and families. Thank you Mrs. G for touching my clay...I took your example into my DRE position years later. You were loved and you will be missed and you shall be remember forever.. xo

Members of the MCS Class of 1966 list Mrs. G among our all-time best teachers. Her influence on us never wanes.
Surely being a great teacher springs from the same extraordinary inner self that has moved others here to write about her devotion to church, family and friends.
Well done, Mrs. G, well done.

May the angels welcome you to Paradise, may the martyrs greet you along your way, and may you see the face of the Lord this day.
I will never forget your many kindnesses...in 1979 you sent my Mom a card a day for months. We have lost a wonderfully kind and classy lady. Sincere sympathy, Roberta

What a great lady, and an excellent teacher. She had us memorize the prepositions and gave a giant Hershey bar to whomever could rattle them off the quickest.

I was lucky enough to work with Ruth at Mayville Central School. I can remember how many wonderful "Santa Cookies" she would make to raise money for our bake sales. I used to order them for my son who just last year called to get the recipe. He really enjoyed them!
She could also make Christmas Trees out of old Reader's Digests. She was a kind, and very giving person. God Bless you Ruth and may they enjoy your "Santa Cookies" in Heaven.

I am just one of manywho will remember Ruth as a warm and loving co-worker at Mayville Central School. I never pass by her home on Hunt Rd. without thinking of what a grand woman she was. Many children were surprised by a wonderful sugar cookie Santa face, made with love by Ruth. She will be missed by those who only knew her as the Cookie Lady as well as those whom she inspired daily.

Bill-My condolences to you,Robert and Susan. Your mom was such a sweet lady and was one of the most loyal members of the church. It seems like we were kids at that church just yesterday, and I'm glad we all
have that foundation to sustain us at times such as this.
