Obituary of G. Marvin Schuver

G. Marvin Schuver, 77, of 1490 Orr St. Ext., Jamestown, NY passed away at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012, in the St. Vincent's Health Center, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident he was born June 7, 1934 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late George A. and Myrtle T. Halstenson Schuver. Marv was a 1952 graduate of Jamestown High School. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1951 to 1994, doing reserve duty at the Erie, PA, Cleveland, OH and Jamestown Naval Reserve Center and retiring as a Quartermaster Master Chief. Before his retirement he had owned and operated the JNK Corporation and Schuvers Truck and Trailer Rental, including the local U-Haul franchise for many years. In earlier years he operated the former Schuvers Esso Service Station which was started by his father. He had attended the First Lutheran Church and was a member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge # 145 Free and Accepted Masons, the Kharram Grotto, the American Legion, the Eagles Lodge, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Conewango Valley Country Club, Warren, PA, where he won several championships including the Senior Member Guest. Surviving are his children Pamela Lodestro of Jamestown, Robert M. Schuver of Rockmart, GA, Tammie Smith of Naples, FL, G. Barton Schuver of Jamestown, seven grandchildren Nicholas Lodestro, Megan Lodestro, Joshua Schuver, Tyler Schuver, Katelyn Smith, G. Justin Schuver, Alexandra Schuver, a great granddaughter Macie Lodestro, a brother Wayne A. Schuver of Jamestown and his companion Linda Lange of Jamestown. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle, pastor of the First Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home where a Mt. Moriah Lodge funeral service will be conducted at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
