Obituary of Charles M. LaPierre

Charles M. LaPierre, 79, of Bemus Point, NY passed away at 9:08 a.m. Tuesday (March 13, 2012) in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born December 23, 1932 in Syracuse, NY a son of the late Charles F. and Marie Bernadette Mitchell LaPierre. Charles was a graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy in Syracuse and earned his Bachelors Degree from LeMoyne College and his Masters Degree from St. Louis University. Before his retirement in 1991, he was a professor of English at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, NY from 1965 to 1991. He also taught English at Jamestown Community College. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, M. Annette Palmer, Paul Glowacki, Mary (Kevin) Kelly, Robert (Cindy) Glowacki and Joseph (Meaghan) Grimes. He is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews, Karen Palmer, Michael (Stephanie) Kelly, Kate Kelly, Maggie Kelly, Patrick Kelly and Finnegan Grimes. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his friend William G. Thompson, three sisters, Marie (the late Bernard) Grimes, Jane LaPierre and Marion Glowacki. A memorial service will be held in early June at a time to be announced by the Lind Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery.
