Obituary of Shirley Coons

Shirley J. Coons, 77, of 340 Delaware Ave. passed away at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday (April 25, 2012) in W.C.A. Hospital. An area resident since coming from Aliquippa, PA in 1957, she was born December 3, 1934 in Ambridge, PA a daughter of the late Clyde Russell and Katherine Kundla Myers. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at St John Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved to collect Elvis memorabilia, glassware and dishes. Surviving are her husband James M. Coons who she married October 19, 1957, two sons James D. Coons of Jamestown, Donald K. (Jennifer) Coons of Simpsonville, SC, three grandchildren Kaitlyn E. Coons, Jacob A. Coons, Emily G. Coons all of Simpsonville, SC and a sister Janet L. (Jim) Shoop of Aliquippa, PA. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
