Obituary of Michele G. Murray
Michele Gould "Mickey" Murray, 62, of 1322 Newland Ave. Jamestown passed away at 8:10 a.m. Saturday (April 28, 2012) in the emergency room of W.C.A. Hospital.
A lifelong area resident she was born June 18, 1949 in Jamestown, NY, the second daughter and fourth child of the late Frank J. and Mina Jane Gould Gould, Jr.
She was a 1967 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Michele was currently employed at the Athenaeum Hotel on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution, where she was the Special Function Manager and wedding coordinator. She has been employed at Chautauqua for the past 18 years, and she dearly loved spending time and working at the Institution.
She was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Viking Lodge.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, companion and friend who was devoted to her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also an avid reader, a talented artist, and enjoyed gardening around her back yard pond at her home.
Surviving are two daughters Laurel M. (Donald) Dalrymple of Del Rio, TX, Sarah E. (David) Heald of Jamestown, four grandchildren Dakota Kuczenski of Lincolnton, NC, Sutton Dalrymple of Del Rio, TX, Dayton Downey, Slade Downey both of Jamestown, three brothers Frank J. "Jay" Gould, III of Blockville, NY, Scott P. (Mary Bosek) Gould of Jamestown, Joel W. Gould of Rock Hill, SC, a sister Janette Gould Martin of Grand Junction, CO and her companion of many years Randall J. Lawson of Jamestown. She was also a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews including Dustin, Mikinna, and Caleb Martin.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Ransford R. Gould and two sisters Jacqueline Gould Johnson and Suzanne Gould.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Joan Brown Campbell, Director of Chautauqua Institution Department of Religion will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
