Obituary of Martha A. Nickerson

Martha A. Nickerson, 60, of 8530 State Line Rd. Clymer, NY passed away Saturday (May 12, 2012) in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident she was born December 11, 1951 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Martha Saniga Moniot. Martha was a 1970 graduate of the former Chautauqua Central School and was currently employed as Technology Advisor for Chautauqua Opportunities, where she has worked for over 20 years. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother "Nana" who loved to go shopping and stop at household and garage sales. She was also very artistic and was looking forward to taking art classes. She always wore a smile on her face. Surviving are a daughter Shannon J. Nickerson of Panama, NY, a son Thomas L. Nickerson of Arcade, NY, four grandchildren Olivia and Marley Nickerson of Panama, Charlotte and Mark Nickerson of Arcade, four brothers Robert Moniot of New York City, Joseph Moniot of W.VA, Thomas Moniot of OR, Michael Moniot of Ashville, NY, two sisters Patricia Moniot of Jamestown, Jeanne Nickerson of Rochester, NY and her companion and the love of her life Royal Nickerson of Clymer. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Phillip Moniot. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
