Mrs.Benson,
I remember the first day I met you, how nervous I was. I had come to suprise Robbie at your house, and he insisted that I come in and meet you. I of course, was in no state to see you in my mind, wearing sweatpants and a bright pink fleece, and I remember stubbornly sitting in the car, attempting to convince Robbie that I looked "gross" and didn't want to see you like that. However, Robbie tactfully backed me into a corner, stating that he had already informed you of my presence, and so I had to meet you right then. I remember coming into your house, with butterflies, because I liked Robbie so much, and just wanted you to like me. You were so sweet and so welcoming right from the beginning. I remember you standing in the living room, and introducing yourself and telling me that you had heard "so many good things" about me. I remember how pretty I thought you were the first time I saw you. You were such a beautiful person on the inside and out, and it just radiated right through you. I never knew that day, how close we would get, or how very much I would miss you when you went away. I remember so many small things that you used to do, that I really miss now. I remember how you would always call Robbie and insist that he be home before nine, because he was not old enough to drive after nine. I remember so many little conversations we had in the living room or at the dining room table about stupid things, like food or work or the weather, that mean so much to me now. I loved every minute that I got to know you, that I got to spend with you. I remember how funny you always thought it was that I would always order chicken alfredo at every restaurant Robbie and I went to, nothing else. I remember it becoming a routine for me to inform you of the quality of the chicken alfredo after every meal, and you always insisting that I try the alfredo that was at the Nic-L-Inn. I will make sure to do that now...just for you :)I remember Robbie and I always coming home with boxes and boxes of food, excitedly offering some up to you to try, so you could enjoy the experience right along with us. I remember you always laughing, shaking your head and rolling your eyes at the amount of food him and I ate..and furthermore the amount of money we spent on the food we ate :)I remember how much you loved bluebirds...and how we would always watch your bluebird house from inside...while you told us all about all of the mean birds that you didn't like..because they bullied the bluebird. I love bluebirds now, because they remind me of you. I remember how Robbie and I loved to joke around with you...even when you didn't neccessarily find it funny. I remember Robbie calling you on the way home from Olives and telling you that he had just proposed to me. It was just like you though, to attempt to handle it in a calm manner, insisting that it at least be a "very long engagement". :) I remember the day Robbie knocked over the big plant next to the window and got dirt all over the floor. We both had big sheepish grins on our face, and began to laugh until we were sternly told that it wasn't funny. :) I remember how at ease I was around you..I always felt like I could be myself. I remember saving up all of the exciting and humorous stories I had had from my day...just to tell you when I came to visit you at the hospital. You were such a good listener. I loved all of the long conversations we had while you were there. I loved seeing you smile, because your smile is so pretty. I fondly remember every little memory I have with you, everything that was ever said or talked about. But I would never take back, getting to know you, because you are and always will be my friend. And I would never take back any of the hurt I feel now, to not know someone so special. I just miss you, a lot. I wish you were still here. But you left me with a better gift than I ever could have asked for, and I could never thank you enough for the person that you made Robbie. He is just like you :). You will always be in my heart and I will always think of you as my very dear friend. You were someone really special, and I feel blessed everyday to have ever known you.
I love you :)

Michelle and I started at WCA hospital 35 years ago June 20th. She and I were friends from the start. She always knew what to do in the most difficult situation. She made the nurses around her feel at ease, as well as the patients.
I loved to hear her laugh...she'd tip her head back and laugh out loud. We had good times together. Talking in the strawberry field after work, and picking 22 quarts...without knowing it...and going through the car to find money to pay for them. Going out to dinner with the "gourmet club". Studying for our boards in Niagara Falls....working our first years in ICU. Having our birthday lunches each year(even this last February).
I know you are watching over us and worrying about us. We will be fine as long as we have you, my friend, as our Angel. I love you Michelle!!! Prayers for your family...please call us if you need ANY thing.

Michelle hired me when I was a brand new Nurse in 1989. She was the best mentor as a professional Nurse. She set the bar and I have always expected others in my career to act accordingly. In many situations I have faced I would always think " What would Michelle do?". Thank you Michelle, as you have made me the best Nurse I could be by setting the standard of "true Professionalism". Now I wish I had just told you this instead of writing it now. I also remember how happy she was to get her Baby. She was such a great person. WCA lost an excellent Nurse.

I have many fond memories of Michelle. God had made her very special. She was beautiful inside & out. A very dedicated nurse & always eager to learn more & acquire new knowledge. Right after becoming a registered nurse she started working in my office & when I started the dialysis unit in W.C.A. Hospital she was one of the first nurses to start there. When I started the Peritoneal dialysis, she was the first to start training patients for home dialysis & when I started Plasmaphoresis she was the first nurse to do that also. What a great person! Patients & her family always were her priority. Her sweet mild manners touched every one who came in her contact. She had a lovely family. May God give them strength to bear this loss & rest her soul in prece.
