Obituary of Frances G. Wolinsky

Frances G. Wolinsky, 84, of 2706 Garfield Road, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie. She was the widow of Dr. Irving R. Wolinsky whom she married September 26, 1948 and who died May 27, 2008. Frances was born May 15, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Louis and Betty Jacobson Goldinger. She was a 1988 Magna Cum Laude graduate of SUNY Fredonia, receiving her bachelor's degree with a major in history and a minor in anthropology. From 1988 until 2010, Frances was totally devoted to the Fenton History Center, Museum and Library as a teacher, leader and instructor. She loved working with children, especially through her 'Local Lore Program' for area 4th graders. She had been an active member of Temple Hesed Abraham since coming to Jamestown in 1946. Surviving are two daughters, Sara J. (Dave) Reale of Jamestown and Helene D. Wolinsky of Burbank, CA; three sons: Norman S. Wolinsky of Ithaca, NY, James A. Wolinsky of The Villages, FL and Steven B. Wolinsky of Sarasota, FL; six grandchildren: Emily Wolinsky of Austin, TX, Michael Reale and Lauren Reale of Jamestown, Natalie Wolinsky of Eau Clair, WI, Jessica Wolinsky of Burbank, and Brandon Butler of Lakewood, NY; a great-grandson, Gabriel Crandall of Buffalo; and a brother, Kerry (Sari) Goldinger of Marlton, NJ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Goldinger Morton. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Beth-El Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
