Obituary of E. Madeline Waid

E. Madeline Waid, 86, of the Lutheran Home & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Frewsburg, NY, died at 5:16 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in WCA Hospital. She was the widow of George William Waid, whom she married December 29, 1945 and who died November 28, 1997. Madeline was born January 15, 1926 in Frewsburg, a daughter of the late Frederick George and Carrie Monna Singer Phillips. She had been employed by the Kling Div. of Ethan Allen in Frewsburg and in earlier years worked as a waitress at the Frewsburg Legion. She was a member of the Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion Auxiliary and the John W. Tiffany Post 53 VFW Auxiliary. Madeline is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Schauers of Greenhurst and Carrie (Busty Bevacqua) Waid of Jamestown; four sons: William (Elaine) Waid and Robert (Marti) Waid, both of Jamestown, Richard (Marie) Waid of Kentucky and Timothy (Linda) Waid of Spring, TX; thirteen grandchildren and many great and great- great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Nelson of Broken Arrow, OK; and a brother, Willis Phillips of Russell, PA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Waid and two brothers, Kermit Phillips and Orrason Barber. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
