Norm and Vi were always so nice to me during barbershop rehearsals when I was there with my mom. You both will be missed by so many people that you probably don't even realize you touched.

Norm and Vi let us rent their next-door apartment when we arrived from Africa in 1989. We enjoyed a most cordial relationship during the five years we lived next to them and kept in contact long after we moved to Florida. We have many fond memories of our time at 39 Andrews Avenue.

I loved it when Norm came into the office at Glatz Agency to pick up his mail. I worked there in the 70's and 80's. He was so much fun. Norm and Vi were such nice people. My thoughts are with the Herby family.

Norm was a great person. Fond memories of singing with him in the Harmony Express and several conversations about the volunteer fire service in Chautauqua County while he served on the County Legislature and came to me for information because I have been a long time volunteer firefighter.

Dear Paul:
I was so very sad to hear about your parents. We both have wonderful memories of them at First Congregational Church, in the choir especially. I loved Norm's beautiful tenor voice and Vi's alto was my strength when I needed help singing. Brad and I were able to visit them a while ago here in Minnesota. We arrived around the time the music therapist was visiting and we all had a good time singing. God's love to you and your family.

Norm came to my apartment to thank me for sending him a change of address as I had just moved there and someone else's name was on the card. It amazed me that he took the time to come and see me in person and thank me for taking the time to tell him of the change.

I met these two wonderful people through the barbershoppers organization. I remember all the trips we had together and their positive attitudes and willingness to do whatever needed to be done with a smile. It was a pleasure to know them and share a part of their lives.

I always enjoyed Tuesday night barbershop with Norm. He was a great baritone and I could learn songs faster by listening to him. Great man enjoyed being a barbershop friend.

Norm and Vi were like another set of parents when I was growing up. I remember Sunday picnics on Lake Erie when we were very young. Norm was a Pontiac man for years, and I particularly remember the Lilac 1957 convertible with red & white interior. I also have many memories of all of the Herbys at First Congregational Church over the years.
