I was a member of Girl Scout troop 51 until I graduated from High School under the leadership of Mrs. Warner. I ow live in Oklahoma and just read that Mrs. Warner had passed on. I remember going by bus to Washington, DC with the Girl Scouts. At one stop, Mrs Warner and Mrs hlgren, one of the mothers, went in to have a cup of coffee. We girls returned early to the bus, and almost had to go on without them, as they had not returned to the bus. The bus driver let us go and get them, thankfully. We changed bus drivers at this stop and Mrs. Warner and Mrs Ahlgren were waiting for our first driver to go back to the bus.
I have many good memories of my times in Girl Scouts with Mrs. Warner.

She was the first other "Emily" I ever knew as a child. How I delighted greeting her...HI Emily! And it was a gift that she was "across the road Emily" when my folks moved to Lakewood. They enjoyed many, many chats. I'd say rest well, but She will probably be just as busy in Heaven! May memories of you bring Joy!

'Across the Road Emily' was a dear friend and neighbor. She always had a smile, a kind word, and a bit of yarn to share. We've lost another of the Greatest Generation.

My memories of Emily go back to the days of my scouting years. She and my mom Dolores were forever consulting about all things Girl Scouts! She's one of those people who touched so many lives it's impossible to even fathom how much she contributed to the lives of those who knew and loved her. My sincere condolences to all of you.
